Carlton 1854

I've always thought that the good folks of Carlton have always been dotty and I think I may have found the evidence while browsing the Newspaper archive at FindMyPast.

Nottinghamshire Guardian 16 March 1854

"Carlton

Shocking Indecency.- On Sunday last a fellow, whose name has been forwarded to us (a framework-knitter), undertook, for a bellyful of ale, to strip himself naked and roll down a steep hill, situated on the footway leading from Carlton to Colwick, known by the name of "Green Hill," a distance of 150 yards."
